The NHS has experienced radical change with the 10 strategic health authorities and the 152 primary care trusts (PCTs) abolished. Most of the NHS commissioning budget is now managed by 209 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and is supported by commissioning support units (CSUs). Add to this the divestment of community services and there are many opportunities to be involved.
